They Will Not Be Little For Long

They Will Not Be Little For Long

My greatest fear- in terms of my family- is that everything will change. My kids won't need me. They will no longer ask me to kiss their boo-boos. They will forget to kiss me goodbye or goodnight. They will no longer climb up into my lap to watch their favorite TV show or movie. She will not ask me to swaddle her baby doll for the hundredth time today. He won't nuzzle my neck as I rock him to sleep.

The fear isn't outgrowing the little tasks of kissing boo-boos and giving baths, although they are oh-so-precious, but who I am to them. They will grow up. This precious "I am their world, their best friend, his pillow, or her protector" moment in time will be gone forever.

I had a great experience with Kimberly. She was very willing to work with my crazy schedule so we could do a time best for me. I was able to fully express myself in the images and voice my opinion about what I wanted to look like in my photos. The session was a great experience and I would recommend to anyone for photography.

Kos, Coffee, & Visas

Kos, Coffee, & Visas

We packed a small weekend bag, locked our apartment, and headed to the coast to take a ferry across the Mediterranean to Kos, Greece. At the border, the official looked at our passports and called his superior. The officer then asked us to step out of line and to follow him to his office. The officer raised his voice, “You’ve been here too long! Your passport is dated for over four months ago! You cannot come back into the country until after 90 days have passed!”

He officially kicked us out of the country.

Posing Concerns

Posing Concerns

"I don't know how to pose! Other people look so good when they pose. I won't know what to do when we start taking pictures! I don't know what to do with my hands, or feet, or..."

Does that statement sound like a familiar concern that you may have? Yeah, me too! When I stand in front of a camera, I freeze. I am just unsure of what to do in combination with my outfit and my surroundings. I'm in the picture. I can't see it.

"These were the first professional pictures I have ever had done, so going into the photoshoot I was very nervous. But with the help of the other two seniors and Kimberly, I soon felt at ease doing the poses that Kimberly described and ended up having a ton of fun!"

11 Thoughts on Graduation

11 Thoughts on Graduation

As I pondered over what to write, I asked my husband for topic ideas. He rattled off a few thoughts and mentioned that it should be a witty commentary on graduation. He said that all my writings are somewhat witty. Hm. Apparently he hasn't read the blog lately! ;) So here it goes: my commentary on graduation and life after graduation.

Summer 2016 Fashion: Jean shorts

Special thanks to Seniorologie for this Polyvore board and inspiration for jean shorts.

For a casual look for your senior portraits, consider jean shorts this summer! Paired with a cute top and adorable jewelry, jean shorts are a great summer piece to your photo wardrobe.

Jean shorts are perfect for any style: boho, preppy, edgy, etc. I love the versatility with jean shorts. Just pair the right top and accessories and you have the perfect summer casual outfit.
