Traveling with Preschoolers: A Hotel Hack

Traveling with Preschoolers: A Hotel Hack

Preparing for our trek across the country and knowing that we would stay in hotels and in friends’ guest rooms, I started scrolling through my mental rolodex for all my packing and travel hacks.

You know those busy school mornings where you can’t find little Junior’s shoes or little Lassie’s backpack suddenly vanishes into oblivion? Staying in a hotel easily tops that. All the planning goes out the window and we can’t find anything. Our room easily looked like a Forever21 dressing room at the end of back to school sale.

Our suitcases exploded in our rooms. And we have preschoolers!

We we wanted to do better.

3 Steps to Posing for Your Senior Photos

Relax. Seriously. Make sure that you have confidence in your photographer. They should guide you and give you tips as you pose. You cannot see how you look from the other side of the camera - they can. Your photographer should help lead you through your session.

If you haven’t yet found a photographer that instills confidence in you and that you trust to guide you to look amazing and pose you well, I’d love to chat!

3 Things You Must Do Before Your Senior Year Starts

Junior & senior year is full of amazing experiences and new and exciting adventures! Before you know it, you'll be crazy busy with Friday night lights, trying to enjoy every minute, and overwhelmed with all that you need to get done.

To help you out, here are 3 things that you must do before your senior year starts so that you can feel a little more relaxed.

1. Find an outlet for stress.

We all cope with stress differently. Find a healthy way to relieve your stress when you find yourself overwhelmed. Find a hobby! Ideas include:

  • Baking

  • Writing

  • Gardening

  • Dancing

  • Exercising

  • Hiking

  • Creating

Once you know what you want to do, then make sure that you schedule it! If you don't plan time for your hobbies or stress relief, then it won't happen. Pick a few times a week and write it in on your calendar and stick with it.

2. Learn how to wash your clothes.

Ask your mom. She'll love the quality time with you and you'll learn a new skill. Trust me. This is one you want to know before you finish high school.

Especially if your hobby is exercising... or hiking...

3. Realize that you don't have to have it all figured out.

It is okay to not know your entire plan for life at 18. So many college graduates are not doing what they thought they would be doing when they entered their first college classroom. It is totally ok to enter college undecided. Learn. Grow. Experience new people and ideas. See what makes you excited about life! Think about who you are. Why do you get excited to get out of bed in the morning?

Bonus: book your senior portraits

You know you will get them done, so go ahead and call the photographer that you want to use! Get on their calendar now. It will be one less thing that you have to stress over because it will be done. Then you can go back to enjoying the last few days of summer knowing that you've done everything to get prepped for the fall.
